I was sifting through the latest wedding I was shooting at - and this image caught my eye - its the best example of why I love taking photos and why, to me, photos are so timeless and can get those small, unnoticed moments that are just so…perfect.

Hi, my name is Tara and welcome to my photography blog.
This little part of the web details my adventures in photography, a bit about me and my personal life, random thoughts and musings, and the things that inspire me. Photography started out as a casual hobby and has now become an integral part of my life. I hope to give back to the world some of the beauty of life's little moments.
Thanks for visiting.

Laughter, fun, love, easy going, comfortable and confident are the words that come to mind when describing Megan and Brian. I met these two a few days ago when shooting their engagement photos in NYC. We met and trooped around Fordham University - the place responsible for bringing these two together. Even in spending a few hours with them, I felt so comfortable around them, and they felt so comfortable around me, being themselves. They were so at ease with each other and new how to make each other laugh so easily - it shines through in their photos I think. They are truly so confident and in love it is easy to smile just being around them. Their wedding is in Arizona next year but wanted some pictures at Fordham in New York City…to remind them of how their story began…

Brian played baseball at Fordham so we ventured to the baseball diamond and dugout for a few..

Yeah…she’s gorgeous!

Gemma has to be one of the most bubbly, fun loving, curious and excited-to-breathe-in-the-world people I have ever met! She is so full of energy and is bursting with excitement to get to know new people and new places. She also happens to be a wonderful photographer herself, taking Australia by storm and by her laughter - because of this, I was very honored and happy that she asked me to take some photos of her in NYC. What an interesting way to document her travels isn’t it? She is currently on a world tour of sorts - visiting Singapore, Finland, NYC and LA among other places. I had a really nice time getting to know her a bit and was inspired by her curiosity and drive to see the world - thanks Gemma!

Autumn in New York

One of my favs

I had so much fun shooting at Katie and Andrew’s wedding with Autumn. It was a gorgeous fall day and the leaves were in full, glorious color in Litchfield, CT. Katie is so bubbly and fun loving, and like Autumn described Andrew - he’s like a big teddy bear. They have a lot of fun together and it was a pleasure taking photos of them in the gorgeous scenery. It was a great party to end the day as well - thanks to Autumn and all the best to the newlyweds! Here are my favorite photos….there are a lot of portraits of them, so be ready

I voted yesterday, and I’ve never been more hopeful or proud to do so. What a day and what an outcome. I am beyond inspired by President-Elect Barack Obama - more than words can say, and my hopes and faith in him have only become exponentially higher in the last 24 hours. We all really need some inspiration in these tough times and I think we all got a little yesterday. I remember thinking to myself - this is like new years eve - the level of jubilee and excitement was incredible. Here’s to change…and yes we can…take control of our lives and as Gandhi wisely said, “Be the change you wish to see”.
I’m really excited to blog this wedding…here is a sneak peek…
*Happy Election Day!*

I love fall. I love it sooooo much I can’t even describe it - so much color everywhere, I love the crisp chill in the air, warm lattes in my hand, curling up and reading a book, watching a movie, halloween buzz, thanksgiving, punkins, fall boots and skirts and sweaters, shiny frizz free hair - you name it….I love this season. In honor of that, a group of my friends and I headed up to Ithaca NY for some rustic fun - hiking, leaf peeping, winery hopping and apple picking. It was a great trip albeit not having heat the first night we were there..heh. Here are some of the pics…

I recently met up with Susie and Chris to take a couple of portraits for them around NYC. I knew Susie and Chris from high school so it was really nice seeing them after so long, catching up on old times and our days in the midwest. They started dating in high school and I was very happy to hear and see that they are still very much together, and they can make each other laugh as if they started dating yesterday. It was a gorgeous fall day and the light was crispy and beautiful. A few (or a lot) of my favorite images follow…

A few weekends ago, one of my good friends Rizwan visited NYC from out of country, and we had a blast just hanging out, catching up, as well as scouring Manhattan looking for the perfect Tux for his upcoming wedding in December. It was a honor for me to be a part of the process to choose his tux as he is a such a good friend of mine and there is a chance I may not be able to attend his wedding. It was a throwback to the days we all used to spend together in college - we spent part of the day talking about memories and nostalgia, but it was also a day filled with talking about where our lives have taken us now, as well as the anticipation of looking forward in life…looking forward to his wedding, and all the excitement (and a bit of stress) that comes with planning your own wedding…and looking forward to what life has in store for you just around the next corner.
Too slim, too boxy, too stripey, too blue, too casual…too…’not a tux’….too…something’s not right! I was definitely suited-out by day’s end, but when he found ‘The One’, as they say for a woman’s wedding dress - it was like, he just ‘knew’. Rizwan felt like a million bucks (or 007?) in the Tux he tried on towards the very end of the day. You could see him smiling from ear to ear and trying on all the zoolander looks you could imagine to make the whole look come together. We faced a lot of logistics issues that day in finding/buying this Tux but in the end it all worked out, and we can be confident that he will look like a million bucks x 007 on his wedding day. I’m happy to know that I’ve at least seen him look so excited, I just hope I can see him and his bride together on their day.
Now…on to a few pics we took while out and about that day. Unfortunately I don’t have a pic of the Tux but I hope to be able to get a pic of him wearing it, along with the joy on his face on his wedding day.

Yours Truly…

I love this photo, such a beautiful moment. Excellent eye Tara!
It’s not un-noticed; it’s what we notice that makes a difference.
We have a whole theme on these little things….glad to see you are stretching your powers of observation too!
